Symbolism
The Dungowan Bush Tomato is exhibiting three different breeding systems at the same time and is considered sexually fluid, which, in my opinion, makes it a nice symbol for the Nonbinary community.
Frogs also seem to have become a popular comfort animal for many nonbinary people. Additionally, their general sexual ambiguity, as well as the fact that some species can grow both male and female reproductive organs, makes the frog a great unofficial mascot for our community.
The flag is upside down for design purposes, but one can also interpret it as a symbol for experiencing gender differently and breaking out of the traditional gender box.
